There are so many great articles and videos that have been written to help teachers use technology in their classrooms. It may be a good idea for teachers, especially new teachers to subscribe to an educational journal during the first years of teaching. The journals have numerous different articles, ideas and resources to use in a classroom. Below are a few examples of articles and videos to assist teachers in an elementary classroom.

Articles:

The following link is to an article written by Alan November, dealing with teacher in-service programs and the need to focus on incorporating the technology into the classroom rather then only on how to use the technology. The author suggests bringing a few students to the in-service to see how the students will interact with the technology.

The following article is from The New York Times and describes all different ways teachers are currently using techonology in the classrooms. One example involves a middle school class that has ipod touches as new technology. Students can respond to questions and essay prompts through the ipod which leads to feedback from the teacher in a much shorter time. The NY Times asked teachers to send in videos of themselves using technology with students and the videos can be accessed through the article as well.

The final article is from the Journal of Special Education Technology. It explains how pre-service teachers are using video conferencing to observe special education classrooms. This is a great way for a pre-service teacher to be apart of the classroom without causing distractions which can really hinder a student with special need's learning.
